A Technical Commission of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) made a visit to the port of Puerto Plata to follow up on the supervision process of the works for the Reconstruction and Construction of the dock.

It is recalled that this project is a model of public-private partnership, where the arrival of more than 650 thousand cruise passengers is expected aboard 130 cruise ships for the first year of operation, and it is expected to be ready by the end of the last quarter of 2019.

For this it has an investment of over 125 million dollars, generating the creation of 6,000 direct jobs and an approximate of 15,000 indirect ones. It will have the capacity to simultaneously receive two Oasis Class boats (the largest boats in the industry), where it is expected that up to 14 thousand passengers arrive in a single day.
In this port five cruise lines will be received, confirmed, thanks to a company that won the tender for the concession of the work
